High Voltage Network Services

High voltage networks are defined as being greater than 1000V AC (1500V DC) and in order to work on such systems special training, experience and authorisation is required.

We are able to undertake the design, installation, commissioning and testing of electricity systems up to and including 33kV.  With over 50 years experience working for Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), we offer Senior Authorised Persons who are qualified to take control of our client's High Voltage networks.

Our ability to commission in all District Network Operator (DNO) regions and also in Independent DNO (iDNO) areas supports our clients needs.

The high voltage supply to a given site is often its achilles heel. Our HV Cable testing services minimise customer downtime.

High Voltage Commissioning

Before a new piece of high voltage electrical switchgear can be connected to an electricity network it is required to undergo a series of commissioning tests to satisfy the DNO that it is functioning correctly.

We carry out these tests and produce appropriate reports for all UK DNO’s and iDNO's.

Senior Authorised Persons (SAPs)

Our engineers are individuals who have been trained and authorised to carry out switching and issue safety documents to enable the safe completion of work/testing on high voltage electricity networks.

New Connections Quotation Service

When clients are looking for a new supply or to increase existing capacity, a quotation is required from a new connection provider.

As this is a considerable investment the ability to gain multiple quotes can often save considerable sums and help reduce the waiting time.

Custom Energy offers a quotation service whereby an experienced design engineer will take time to get competitive quotes from independent connection providers to ensure a client gets best value in terms of cost and lead times. This can potentially save our clients ten of thousands of £'s.

Further consultation services the lifecycle of the project are also available.
