Strategic Design

Incompatible or poorly designed metering systems can have significant cost implications. An effective metering strategy will take into consideration a building's design and operational objectives.

We carry out mechanical and electrical surveys of your premises (or process) and deliver a report which recommends the best solution for your requirement, whether it be energy management or tenant billing.

All recommendations are compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.

Metering Investigations

Inaccurate systems or incorrectly installed metering can prove extremely costly. We carry out diagnostic surveys on behalf of both landlords and tenants to investigate concerns, identify faults or equipment failure and make recommendations to rectify the problem.

Meter investigations can often save thousands of £'s for clients and usually offer a very favourable payback period.

Meter Installation

Our team will install legally compliant MID approved meters for billing, ensuring that the Heat Networks (Metering and Billing) Regulations (HNR) are met and that our installations meet Part L of the Building Regulations. Multiple utilities are often metered in the same installation for maximum cost effectiveness.

Flexibility is necessary to work around a building's daily lifecycle and our installations are scheduled at a convenient time for our clients, often out-of-hours.

Meter Verification Surveys

Within a multi-let commercial building, lack of clarity over which meters serve which clients can cause incomplete and inaccurate recovery of charges.

Our verification survey independently identifies the area served by each meter. The report includes a meter schedule and full schematic drawings to ensure accurate future billing.

Meter Commissioning & Validation

Many problems encountered with metering systems stem from incorrect installation, programming or poor maintenance. These issues are surprisingly common on new build projects.

We offer independent commissioning checks, post installation, to ensure meters are recording accurately. Certification is provided to prove conformance.

Monitoring

A short-term metering installation offers a client the ability to monitor a building, specific piece of equipment or, indeed, a transformer.

A client may be looking to identify if there is spare capacity on an existing network to cope with additional equipment or identify the load used by a temporary piece of machinery.
